July 2018 Newsletter

From the Laptop of Pastor Jane

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have with each other. For-give as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all togeth-er in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts!

Colossians 3:12-15a

Dear Friends,

Is summer here? With temperatures ranging from 70 to 90 degrees the last few weeks, school out until September and the sun shining on our faces, the world and its people are finally brighter! Yes, that was a LONG secluded winter but God has now opened countless opportunities for us to relax rest and recon-nect to HIM and those we love. Let us take time to step away from our normal routine and not only discover new ways to care, serve and build on our faith but also bring HIS SON with us!

Did you know the Lord loves to go to the sea; the lake; with family outings; on vacation; and with us wherever He may lead? Did you know that the Lord that loves and forgives us unconditionally also invites us during this season to bring peace to aching hearts; share compassion and kindness; be patient and gentle, and above all will give us strength to forgive those who have done us wrong?

As a Pastor, God has taught me great lessons through my own life and of others that the only true way to discover HIS peace and HIS joy, is to follow in HIS footsteps, no matter how difficult! Recently, some-one I love took a great step of faith and showed the love of Christ through His actions by reflecting all the virtues, especially forgiveness and love! In spite of the hurt and fear, he chose to allow HIS spirit to clothe him! It was through that action, that he was able to find HIS amazing peace and comfort. Of course, he could not have done it without the strength that comes through Jesus Christ, support of those who love him and his deep rooted faith. Through these difficult decisions, it was HIS peace and ultimate joy that remained!

Is there something that dwells in your heart in a negative way that prevents you from truly finding rest and peace this season? Is there someone who you need to forgive and give to the Lord? If so, this summer where you can sense His true warmth, take the step of faith with the virtues of Christ and truly forgive. I promise you, truly promise you, there is no greater gift and through this action, you will find HIS peace and joy!

Have a blessed summer! Feel His warmth, His love, His grace! Pastor Jane
